GLDI IS COMMITTED TO TRAINING AND BUILDING FUTURE LEADERS TO TRANSFORM THE WORLD FOR CHRIST

I would describe GLDI as the most intentional time I’ve spent with God. … GLDI was not only a place where I had the opportunity to seek Him, but also a place where I was encouraged by a community of believers to go farther and deeper in my walk with Him. GLDI is a place of safety where everyone can come together, be vulnerable, and let God use that vulnerability and honesty to develop you.

“GLDI has given me a new perspective. I want to live a successful life for God and to be satisfied with all the things God has given to me. I believe that through GLDI, a new generation of leaders can rise up and change the world for God. I now have a vision for the future and the way God will use me not only as a Christian, but also as a Korean-American to change the world for Christ.“

“The most significant thing I learned were lessons of character. Lessons that are knowledge-based can be incredibly valuable in and of itself and can be easily learned. Lessons of character are hard to come by and can’t be learned simply by knowing what to do. Character is usually learned by experiences, especially difficult and trying ones…but I consider them extremely valuable.”

Faith, brokenness, surrender, discipline, community, integrity, competency. GLDI is a safe-community where God revealed to me my deepest sins and needs through brothers and sisters, speakers, and staff. … I learned about the need for integrity and competency, which will allow me to be more equipped and ready for God’s kingdom work. Most of all, GLDI helped me truly experience the fact that I cannot live without faith in Jesus Christ, and only in Him.

  • Faith, brokenness, surrender, discipline, community, integrity, competency. GLDI is a safe-community where God revealed to me my deepest sins and needs through brothers and sisters, speakers, and staff. I learned the importance of Scripture and prayer in a more disciplined and holistic way that allowed me to see how I was abusing or ignoring their roles in my life. I learned about the need for integrity and competency, which will allow me to be more equipped and ready for God’s kingdom work. Most of all, GLDI helped me truly experience the fact that I cannot live without faith in Jesus Christ, and only in Him.

  • I think that GLDI is essential for any student who wants to be an effective Christian leader in the world. GLDI trains you to be before you do, and does a great job of showing us what our strengths and weaknesses are. The program also challenges and helps us to push ourselves but in a safe, healthy environment. GLDI is also well-rounded because it focuses on many aspects that stretch our minds and show us what true leadership looks like through lectures, mentorship, and serving (staff members). Ultimately, GLDI teaches you what holistic worship really means, and takes the standard of being salt and light to a true level (not a sugar-coated one), inspiring you and helping you realize that leading in Christ is completely possible with the right work ethic, integrity, attitude, and belief.

  • GLDI was probably the most significant phase of my life until now, especially spiritually. I can confidently say that I truly experienced His presence and love through the service of His people. As a PK and Christian all my life, I think this is the first time I felt saved, not through works but by faith. GLDI has also given me a vision of Christ-centered sisterhood. The family group helped me remain vulnerable and honest with the girls around me. I also loved how GLDI allowed me to be so rooted in the word and be disciplined, not just spiritually but physically and mentally as well. All the sessions, speakers, mentors, worship--to be honest every part of GLDI--have been a tremendous blessing in my life.

  • Before I arrived I had high expectations of GLDI in terms of spiritual, physical, and character growth. Having gone through 40 days, GLDI has far exceeded my initial expectations. It was especially awesome to be connected with a number of like-minded and like-visioned people from all over the nation and abroad. I have grown in my character by enjoying a more intimate relationship with God and deeper interactions with the people around me at GLDI. This was undoubtedly the best summer in my life.

  • I would tell my friends that I had a glimpse of heaven at GLDI. It’s a place where I truly learned about myself, under God’s safe, caring arms, and a place where I truly found out where I belong, what I am here for, and where I need to go from now on. I now have a better idea of what it looks like to actively live out my faith. Thank you GLDI for being a place of safety to be who I am, to reveal my weaknesses and darknesses, so that I may be completely broken and be rebuilt and remolded in God.

  • GLDI was a time when God started planting seeds in my heart. He broke the hardened soil, and tilled it until it was ready for him to plant. Some of these seeds were dreams, as if they had been specially created for me, seeds that I didn’t even know had existed. Before GLDI, I didn’t even realize that my lack of faith was what had made it so difficult for me to have big visions and dreams. It was so freeing when I realized that I just need to let go and trust Him with all things. The possibilities are limitless with God. He started the process of growth, to show me a portrait of the woman that he desires me to be. I’m definitely not there yet, but I see the beauty in the process. He’s bringing everything together so that I can bear fruit, and I am convinced that his blessings are for me to use to bless others. GLDI therefore has expanded my vision of myself and his purpose for me, of this world and how I can live in it and love others, and visions of Him and how purposeful he is in all things.

  • I would describe GLDI as the most intentional time I’ve spent with God. It was the place where I found the answers that I had sought for so long. Although some answers were vague, the deep intimacy I experienced in the process was so important. GLDI was not only a place where I had the opportunity to seek Him, but also a place where I was encouraged by a community of believers to go farther and deeper in my walk with Him. GLDI is a place of safety where everyone can come together, be vulnerable, and let God use that vulnerability and honesty to develop you. I would tell my friends that GLDI is a place where there is no judgment because everyone here is at the same broken place seeking the same loving God.

  • GLDI is a place where you become broken and then put back together. 40 days might seem like an eternity on paper but the experience is so rich and intense that time flies by. You won’t regret a single moment of your time at GLDI. If you’re serious about growing what faith you have, or feel like you’ve been stuck inside a comfort zone bubble you can’t break out of, GLDI should be your next destination.

  • GLDI is one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. GLDI is not so much a program or camp as it is a community we learn to build (and let God grow) on trust and love. I learned not only about my strengths but my calling for the Kingdom of God. GLDI will train and empower you to go out in the world and become a leader who not only shows excellence in his or her field of work but bravely serves God and others.

  • GLDI is a 40 day leadership training experience for Christians to be ambassadors for Christ in every area of their lives - occupation, family, church, and communities. Each week has a different theme that hones into a specific area. In the beginning there’s personal transformation, and then it goes into themes like career and calling, Biblical worldview, and others. One of the best parts of GLDI is the community you go through it with. There are family groups of same gender that you share with every day, discussion groups to talk about sermons that change every week, and lots of other opportunities to get to know people. Something I really appreciate about GLDI is that it really is a holistic experience - it stretches you physically with morning exercise and packed schedules, mentally with Transformation research Projects, spiritually with disciplines like fasting, praying, reading, and relationally with the people you meet. I’d definitely recommend it to people to go to, as you learn a lot about who you are in light of God.
